This paper focuses upon the uncertainty of force calibration measurements at the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST). The uncertainty of the realization of force for the national deadweight force standards at NIST is discussed, as well as the uncertainties associated with NIST’s voltage-ratio measuring instruments and with the characteristics of transducers being calibrated. The Dayton Air Force Depot was given the authority to establish a centralized calibration program. Under their plan, the Air Materiel Area Depots were given a set of measurement standards, which were periodically calibrated by the Dayton Air Force Depot using standards traceable to .

You are here. Home» Calibration. Metrology, which is the science of measurement, plays a key role in industry, international trade and in everyday life.

Accurate and reliable measurements are critical in assuring product quality, and in supporting environmental, health and safety issues. The national measurement standards of a country provide the basis for its other conformity assessment activities like calibration.

Calibration is the comparison of measurement values delivered by a device under test with those of a calibration standard of known accuracy. Force: kN. GNBS. The Guyana National Bureau of Standards (GNBS) was established in March of the year under Act.

NBS Handbook, Handbook for the Quality Assurance of Metrological Measurements, by John K. Taylor, and Henry V. Oppermann is out of print and the majority of content has been updated and published in the publications noted below. HB was developed as a source of calibration procedures for weights and measures laboratories and covered mass, length and volume calibrations for field standards.

The Bureau of Standards Jamaica is a statutory body established by The Standards Act of to promote and encourage standardization in relation to commodities, processes and practices. However, over the years, its role has expanded to include the provision of services in relation to conformity assessment (certification, testing and calibration) and metrology.

Abstract: The techniques and instrumentation utilized by the National Bureau of Standards to calibrate field strength meters and standards in terms of absolute field strength at frequencies from 10 kHz to 1 GHz are described. Two basic techniques are used: (1) the standard-field method for loop antennas at frequencies from 30 kHz to 30 MHz and (2) the standard-antenna method for horizontally Cited by: 4.
